Environmental Health Trust Film Picks on Cell Phone Radiation, Wireless and Electromagnetic Fields

Over the decades many films have been made on the health effects of cell phones, cell towers and wireless. This is just a short list and we will continue to add new films. so please come back later.

If we missed a documentary or film you recommend, please let us know at info@ehtrust.org. We will continue to add to this list.

Burt Wolf’s “Short Guide to Cell Phone Safety” and “The Dangers of Radiofrequency Radiation”

A Must Watch: Burt Wolf’s Travels and Traditions, which is broadcasted on PBS, aired two excellent episodes on cell phones and wireless radiation. They are a must-watch for everyone learning about this issue. These episodes are well researched and the perfect films to screen in your community to get people interested in the issue of wireless.

Microwaves, Science & Lies

by Jean Heches and Nancy de Meritens

This incredible documentary describes how the cellular telephone industry and its many allies have endeavored successfully to suppress public awareness of the growing body of research that finds biological effects of significance from exposure to the microwave radiation from cell phones and cell towers. The power of industry is highlighted. This French film has been translated into English.

Generation Zapped

Generation Zapped is an eye-opening documentary, which reveals that wireless technology poses serious health risks, from infertility to cancer. Through interviews with experts in science and public health, along with people who suffer from high sensitivity to wireless radiation, the film suggests ways to reduce your exposure and protect your family. The film features an impressive array of international scientists: Martin Blank, Lennart Hardell, Magda Havas, and more, and public health policy experts.

Children and Wireless: Wi-Fried by ABC Catalyst

You cannot see it or hear it but Wi-Fi blankets our homes, our schools, and our cities. Australia’s safety agency says there’s no evidence of harm, but that’s not the same as saying it’s safe. A growing number of scientists are concerned that the widespread use of Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi-enabled devices could be slowly making us sick. In this Catalyst investigation, Dr. Maryanne Demasi explores whether our wireless devices could be putting our health at risk.

After this documentary on Wi-Fi health concerns aired, backlash from unknown sources called for the program to be pulled off the Internet. Not only was the show taken down but ABC Catalyst reporter Dr. Maryanne Demasi was fired along with the entire show. Experts who had declined interviews decried “fringe” science.

Complicit

This documentary follows the intimate journey of Chinese migrant worker Yi Yeting, a benzene-poisoned victim-turned-activist fighting work-induced leukemia, who takes on the global electronics industry in a fight against dangerous workplace conditions. It raises the important question of our own moral responsibility to ensure that products we rely on are produced in a safe manner.

Resonance

The first documentary to investigate the actual mechanisms by which mobile phone technology can cause cancer. The film takes a deeper look at how humanity is reacting to the most profound environmental change the planet has ever seen.

“IS RADIATION THE ASBESTOS OF THE 21ST CENTURY?”

Is radiation the asbestos of the 21st century? is a documentary that investigates the effects of cellular and wifi radiation on the body. The main character is the Electro Hypersensitive (EHS) Dennis Rietbergen.  We follow Dennis in his search for answers to questions like: How bad is radiation? How do people deal with their health issues? What does the government do to reduce the dangers of radiation? Dennis talks with scientists, doctors, and EHS patients to get a clear picture of the effects of radiation on humans. Dennis also tries to talk with major telecom providers and the Dutch government.

The full film is available online in English and translated into several languages.

CBC Investigative Reports

Award-winning investigative CBC reporter Wendy Mesley has reported on cell phones and industry involvement in several CBC investigations over the last decade. Please watch all three investigations below:

Investigative Film: Wi-Fi Refugees. Electrosensitive people try to escape wireless technology.

An investigation that features some of the top scientists in the world. “Electrosensitive people insist that Wi-Fi and cell phones are inflicting constant harm on humans, animals, and nature. Their testimonies are not the only evidence that non-ionizing radiation may not be as harmless as we have been led to believe. Scientific studies that have been conducted on plants, insects, and mice suggest these electromagnetic waves may be damaging living organisms. Scientists from around the world have appealed to the UN, warning of the negative, long-term effects that electromagnetic fields could be having on animal and plant life.”

2009 Lateline Cell Phones and Cancer

This investigation features ICNIRPs Rodney Croft and calls out his industry connections.  A must watch.

“Over half the world now pays to have a mobile phone. But any research into a link between mobile phones and brain cancer looks like ‘unfinished business’, especially with children. Some countries like France and even Finland, the home of Nokia, are changing policies on mobile phones and two leading Australian scientists have spoken out.”

Interested in History?

There are several documentaries made decades ago still relevant today such as:

Bad Reception: The Wireless Revolution in San Francisco (2003)

Doug Loranger’s video about San Francisco’s fight with the cell phone industry and its rapidly proliferating but largely unnoticed antennas erected in urban areas.

Broadcast Blues

“Responding to a mandate from the Federal Communications Commission to begin broadcasting digital television signals by the fall of 1999, the affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS plan to put up a new HDTV tower on residential Lookout Mountain, 2000 feet above the city of Denver, Colorado. Residents on Lookout Mountain strongly protest the new tower claiming there is evidence that the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) levels on Lookout Mountain are too high and pose a health threat. Lookout Mountain already hosts 18 towers and more than 450 transmission devices, making it the most complex electromagnetic environment of any residential area in the United States. “No problem,” says the FCC, “the standards are acceptable and the broadcasters are in compliance.”
